Please join us for an important day of solutions.

We're building a solutions-oriented forum to discuss and highlight the critical need for improved educational opportunities for boys and men of color in Upstate New York.


The Rochester Men and Boys Summit is a one-day program designed to 1) highlight the critical educational supports needed by; 2) provide opportunities for the positive representation required to improve the self-esteem of; and 3) establish the frameworks for mentorship and engagement necessary for young boys and men of color to achieve the highest levels of personal and professional success.


This summit is not focused on politics. It is focused on creating the SOLUTIONS needed to bring resources and awareness critical to catalyzing change. 



Why this Summit Matters...

Lowest Graduation Rate 

Rochester graduation rates rank the region last in the Big 5 cities within the state of New York.  

3rd Highest Crime Rate

Poverty is often followed by crime and Rochester ranks 3rd for the highest murder rate per capita in the state of NY.  

NYC ranks 12th.

Highest State Poverty Rate

Roughy 33.4% of all Rochester households live at or below the federal poverty line. 

RCSD Teachers to Receive Continuing Education Credit

200 Seats Available

Rochester City School District teachers are eligible to receive up to eight credit hours toward the thirty (30) required continuing education credits needed to receive the district provided stipend.

Less Than 10% 

According to a Schott Foundation, over a 5 year timeframe only 9% of Black teens and 10% of hispanic teens graduated from the Rochester Public School System.

Rochester ranks highest amongst  poverty rates in the state with roughly 33% of residents living at or below the poverty line.
